Temple

History

The temple, which was originally established in the year 2032 B.S. by the late Sant Bahadur Thapa Chhetri, underwent renovation and maintenance in 2055 B.S. with the support of the local religious community.

Ritualistic dance-based worship is performed every day, except on Aunsi (New Moon) and Ekadashi, following traditional customs. Special religious gatherings take place during Chaitra Shukla Ashtami and Phulpati of Vijaya Dashami, attracting large crowds of devotees who come to offer prayers and perform Bhakal Puja (vow offerings), which is believed to fulfill one's wishes. During Chaite Dashain and Vijaya Dashami, thousands of worshippers participate in night-long devotional singing (Jagaram) and religious fairs, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere. The temple is situated in Bhainsikot, Ward No. 1, Bandipur Rural Municipality, Tanahun District, Gandaki Province, Nepal. The land for the temple was generously provided by the descendants of its founder, the late Sant Bahadur Thapa Kshetri. It continues to be a sacred pilgrimage site, drawing devotees from all corners of Nepal—east, west, north, and south—to seek blessings and offer prayers. Beyond religious worship, the temple also serves as a cultural and community hub, where visitors engage in sightseeing, group visits, and picnic programs organized by individuals and organizations. This temple stands as a symbol of faith, heritage, and unity, fostering a deep spiritual connection among those who visit and preserving a sacred tradition that has existed for generations.

About Reconstruction

on Jestha 17, 2081 B.S., the temple suffered severe damage due to a natural disaster, leaving it completely destroyed. This unforeseen calamity has deeply impacted the spiritual and cultural heritage of the region, emphasizing the urgent need for restoration efforts.

In the year 2081 (Bikram Sambat), on the auspicious occasion of Shubh Deepawali, a Deusi-Bhailo event was organized, and a fundraising campaign was conducted with the participation of devoted worshippers to support the reconstruction of the temple. As a result of these collective efforts, the temple reconstruction work officially commenced on 8th month, 1st day of the year 2081B.S.

As part of the reconstruction efforts, the temple will be developed as a religious and tourist destination, preserving the heritage and traditional architectural style in its exterior while incorporating modern technology for a durable and well-structured interior.

However, due to financial constraints, the construction work faced difficulties in progressing further..
